First Grade

Miss Griffin, Mrs. Koribanick, Mrs. Palestina, Mrs. Strus

We are happily awaiting the arrival of your children to the first grade.  To ensure a smooth transition, there are a few things you and your child can do over the summer to prepare for the exciting year ahead.

We know the reading process has gone well in Kindergarten.  To continue and retain the skills learned, please read with your child daily. A list of basic sight words will be going home with the children too.  Trips to the library are also a way to retain good reading skills.

In addition, below you will find a list of items your child will need for school in September.  We will repeat this list at the beginning of the new school year but wanted to give you a chance to start collecting at your convenience.

Please make sure your child’s name is clearly written on every item sent to school.  Thanks again for your cooperation and support.  We look forward to seeing you in September.  Have a safe and happy summer!
