Engineering and Design Geodesic Dome 2009

As a culminating lesson, Miss Petti's Engineering and Design class constructed a Geodesic Dome.  The dome, created with many rolled up newspapers, is big enough to fit all six engineer students inside of it at one time.
The children had to precisely measure and cut over 60 tubes of rolled up newspaper, then strategically staple each one together following the instructions exactly as written. The group was very proud to start and complete the construction of the dome in one period.
The engineers learned that triangles provide a very strong structure and that working as a team player is just another way to be supportive and accomplish a goal.
The Engineering and Design students worked very hard to make sure the dome was a success. They tretched their brainpower to the limits for this project and should be applauded for their success!
